1st verse:
The stars are shining in the automn sky;
The birds are flying high.
Yet you're uneasy and you don't know why.

You close your eyes to sleep, yet something's wrong;
You'll hear it if you try.
It's not the automn wind, don't close your eyes.

3rd and 4th verses:
You close your eyes to sleep, but faintly then,
You hear a distant cry.
Oh pray don't fall asleep, for then they'll die.

It would be easy to just close your eyes
And block out all the pain.
